BlazeMeter’s interface has been refreshed with a clean, modern design—featuring an updated logo and new color palette that is now visible across all modules, including Service Virtualization and API Monitoring.

This is the first step in a broader visual overhaul aimed at improving user experience and design consistency. Upcoming enhancements, such as updated email templates and refined UI styling, will continue to roll out over the coming months.

These are design-only updates and won’t impact your tests or workflows. 

[Service Virtualization] Messaging Support with IBM MQ

BlazeMeter Service Virtualization now supports enterprise Messaging, starting with IBM MQ—the industry’s leading messaging middleware. This enables asynchronous communication between applications via messages, improving resilience by decoupling the sender and receiver.

New capabilities include:

• Full support for Queues and Topics
• A new recording feature to capture messages via virtual queues/topics and generate Messaging-based virtual services
• Support for key messaging patterns including Point-to-Point, Publish-Subscribe, and Request/Reply architectures

This launch expands BlazeMeter's virtualization capabilities into critical backend systems for modern enterprise applications.

[API Testing & Monitoring]: Subtests Now Honor Configured Test Locations

Previously, subtests defaulted to the same location as their parent test—limiting flexibility for environment-specific scenarios. With this update, subtests now automatically run in the location specified in their own Environment settings, ensuring greater accuracy and control across distributed testing environments.

[New] DataDog APM: More Granular Metrics with Label Breakdown

BlazeMeter now supports label-level metric breakdowns in the DataDog APM integration, offering deeper visibility and precision.

What’s new:

• Send performance metrics by label to DataDog
• Up to 300 labels per test (additional labels are aggregated)
• Metrics like average response time, percentiles, and others are tagged by label
• Label names appear in DataDog under “Tags” along with master ID or report ID

How to enable it:
When configuring a DataDog Profile in BlazeMeter, select the new "Send Labels Breakdown" option. Once enabled, BlazeMeter automatically includes label-level data in every test execution sent to DataDog.

This feature enables users to build highly detailed dashboards in DataDog—on par with BlazeMeter’s in-platform reporting—for more actionable, real-time performance insights.

[API Monitoring]: Enhanced GraphQL Support - Auto-Fetch Schema & Postman Import

 BlazeMeter has introduced two powerful enhancements to streamline GraphQL testing:

• Auto-Fetch GraphQL Schema – The GraphQL schema is now automatically retrieved whenever an endpoint is entered. This enables real-time validation and provides autocomplete suggestions, making query creation faster, more accurate, and more intuitive.
   
• Import GraphQL from Postman – Easily migrate existing GraphQL requests by importing Postman collections. This eliminates the need for manual setup, allowing Postman users to seamlessly transition their workflows to BlazeMeter.

These updates enhance efficiency and improve the GraphQL testing experience, reducing setup time and minimizing errors.

[Dynatrace APM Integration]: Streamlined Profile Management

 Managing Dynatrace APM Profiles is now faster and more efficient with two key enhancements:

• Duplicate an Existing Profile – Users can now create a new profile by duplicating an existing one. The new profile is pre-populated with the same metrics, allowing users to simply update the host, process group, or service without manually reselecting metrics. This is especially useful for teams managing multiple profiles with similar configurations.
   
• Modify an Existing Profile – Instead of deleting and recreating a profile, users can now directly edit an existing Dynatrace APM Profile. The profile fields are pre-filled with their current values, making updates quicker and easier.

These improvements reduce setup time and simplify ongoing maintenance of Dynatrace APM integrations.

[API Monitoring]: Validate Your Script with a Dry-Run

Users can now validate their custom JavaScript scripts directly on the API Monitoring JS engine before saving them. This Dry-Run feature executes the script in isolation, checking for syntax errors, missing dependencies, and runtime issues specific to the API Monitoring environment.

By validating scripts beforehand, users can:

• Catch errors early
• Streamline debugging
• Ensure smooth execution within API tests

This feature is particularly beneficial for teams migrating from Postman, where scripting is a common workflow.

[Advanced Search]: Filter by All Selected Values

Users can now refine search results with greater precision by filtering for all selected values in multi-selection filters like Tags. Previously, selecting multiple values returned results containing any of the selected values. With this update, users can apply the same filter multiple times—each with a different value—to narrow results to only those matching all selected criteria.

For example, to locate performance reports for the "Flights App" in "Release 1.1," users can apply the Tags filter twice: once for "Flights App" and once for "Release 1.1." Only reports matching both criteria will be displayed.

This enhancement applies to all multi-selection filters, delivering a more focused and flexible search experience.

[Performance]: Reorder Columns in the Request Stats Tab

BlazeMeter now allows users to reorder columns in the Request Stats table for a customized view of their data. This functionality is accessible via the Edit Columns button, providing flexibility in how information is displayed.

[Performance]: Improved Search Functionality in Dynatrace APM Integration

Finding the right host in Dynatrace APM integration is now faster and more efficient. For customers managing large clusters with hundreds of nodes and thousands of pods, BlazeMeter introduces a search feature that allows users to search by any part of the host name. This eliminates the need for extensive scrolling and makes selecting the correct host quick and precise.

[API Monitoring]: MS Teams Integration Update 

Starting December 18, 2024, BlazeMeter's Teams integration now works with the new MS Workflows app. The previous integration has been deprecated and no longer sends notifications. Customers must update to the new setup to continue receiving notifications. We provided advance notice of this change along with comprehensive documentation to guide users through the transition.

[API Monitoring]: Increased Limit for Test Schedules 

In response to user feedback, BlazeMeter has increased the maximum number of test schedules from the previous limit to 50. This applies consistently across both the API and UI, offering greater flexibility and scalability for managing test schedules.

[Performance]: JMeter 5.6.3 Now Supported

JMeter 5.6.3 Now Supported The “Latest” JMeter version has been upgraded from 5.6.2 to 5.6.3, ensuring users can leverage the newest updates and improvements available in JMeter for performance testing.

[API Monitoring]: Improved Clarity for Teams Using Multiple Radar Agents

For teams managing multiple Radar Agents, the Locations section is now more organized and user-friendly. You can designate an agent as "private," restricting its visibility and use to the owner only. This enhancement reduces confusion and simplifies management of extensive agent lists, making it easier to identify and access the appropriate resources.

[API Monitoring]: View Full URL for Long Requests

To improve the user experience when creating and analyzing API tests, long request URLs are now fully visible in both the editor and results screens. In the editor, the input field dynamically expands to display the entire URL. On the Results screen, URLs are no longer cropped, ensuring users can easily view and verify the full request.

[API Monitoring]: Proxy Settings in the UI 

Configuring a proxy has become more user-friendly. Previously available only through Radar Agent settings, proxy configuration can now be done directly in the UI. A new section under Test Settings (Environment Settings) allows users to easily configure proxy type, server details, authorization, and bypass options—all within the same interface, streamlining the setup process.

[Service Virtualization]: Animated Virtual Service Deployment Timing and Graphs 

When starting a Virtual Service, deployment phases are now displayed with animations and graphs, providing insights into the startup process. Information such as the number of transactions, test data, think time, SSL, and more are included. Once a Virtual Service is running, users can click on Show More → Show Deployment Timing for further details.

[Service Virtualization]: Enhanced Show Logs for Virtual Services

Enhanced Show Logs for Virtual Services The "Show Logs" feature now clearly displays both Requests and Responses for each Virtual Service, improving log transparency. Additionally, a new Search Log function has been added to make it easier to find specific log entries.

[Performance]: Anomaly Detection 

BlazeMeter introduces automated Anomaly Detection, helping users identify abnormal endpoint behavior during performance tests. This statistical model runs in the background without user intervention, flagging anomalies on the Timeline chart in purple. These highlighted anomalies point to specific endpoints/labels and timeframes, providing a starting point for root cause analysis of performance issues. Anomaly Detection adds another layer of defense against performance problems without the need for predefined failure criteria or baselines. 

Anomaly Detection can be toggled off via the Account/Environment settings.

[Service Virtualization]: Reliability and Recovery of Transactions (Accidental Deletion) 

Service Virtualization now includes a transaction recovery feature for deleted data. Workspace Admins can recover transactions within 30 days of deletion, whether intentional or accidental. After 30 days, the transactions will be permanently deleted and unrecoverable. This feature is available only to Admin users, ensuring controlled access to recovery options. 

[API Monitoring]: Conversion of API Test to Performance Test 

Conversion of API Test to Performance Test is a powerful new feature allowing users to convert API Monitoring Tests into BlazeMeter Performance Tests. This enables deeper insights into API performance by load testing APIs, checking response times under stress, and identifying bottlenecks. The feature works by converting existing JSON files (used for API testing/monitoring) into JMX files, the standard format for performance testing with Apache JMeter.

[API Monitoring]: Copy Result Response Body to Clipboard 

This UX improvement allows users to easily copy the response body from test results directly to the clipboard, providing quicker access and enhanced flexibility.

[API Monitoring]: Download Results in JSON Format

Users can now download API test results in JSON format. This machine-readable format offers more detailed data and can be leveraged by AI for deeper insights and analysis.

[API Monitoring]: Flexible Email Notifications

We’ve enhanced how email notifications work in API Monitoring, providing greater flexibility and control. Instead of being limited to a single notification option, you can now select multiple notification preferences. This allows you to tailor your monitoring and reporting alerts based on your specific needs, ensuring you receive the right information at the right time.

[API Monitoring]: GraphQL support 

In response to the growing demand for GraphQL, BlazeMeter now supports GraphQL in API Testing and Monitoring. GraphQL allows users to request precisely the data they need in a single query, enhancing efficiency and flexibility compared to traditional REST APIs. With this new feature, users can send GraphQL requests, configure variables, and easily test their GraphQL endpoints, ensuring seamless client-server communication.

[Performance]: Java 21 Now Supported

Java 21 is now officially supported and can be used with the latest capabilities of various executors. This update allows users to leverage the newest features of Java 21 in their performance testing environments, enhancing compatibility and functionality.

[Functional]: Support for Insecure Certificates 

For customers using self-signed certificates, BlazeMeter now supports the chromeOptions capability called "acceptInsecureCerts". By adding this property and setting it to 'true', you can enable functionality to accept insecure certificates during testing.

[Performance]: Dynamic User Scaling with Ramp Up/Down 

BlazeMeter now allows you to adjust the number of concurrent virtual users during load testing with our new configurable Ramp Up/Down feature.

• Ramp Up: If you increase the number of users and configure ramp-up, the additional users will ramp up according to the specified duration.

• Ramp Down: If you decrease the number of users and configure ramp-down, the reduction will occur over the set duration.

• Ramp Up Steps: If ramp-up steps are configured, the increase or decrease in users will happen in steps.

This dynamic scaling capability helps simulate real-world user patterns seamlessly, allowing you to quickly identify performance limits and bottlenecks without needing to re-run tests with different user counts. For more details, refer to the BlazeMeter guide.

[Performance]: Enhanced Multi-Test Report Comparison 

Building on the recently introduced enhanced single-test Request Stats comparison, BlazeMeter now extends this capability to multi-test comparisons. Users can compare performance metrics across multiple tests in a tabular format to identify any degradation in system performance and pinpoint the specific labels/endpoints where issues occurred. This feature is available to all users on all plan types.

[API Monitoring]: Import Pre/Post-Request Scripts from Postman 

BlazeMeter has improved import functionality by now supporting the import of Postman’s pre- and post-request scripts. This enhancement ensures that these scripts are accurately migrated to API Monitoring, minimizing disruptions in the testing process. Additionally, we've introduced two new scripting sections at the environment level. By defining pre- and post-request scripts here, they will run automatically for every request step, streamlining workflows and improving efficiency.

[API Monitoring]: Make Actions on Multiple Test Steps at Once 

We’re introducing a more efficient way to manage tests! Users can now select multiple test steps using newly added checkboxes. The new "Actions" drop-down menu allows you to Skip, Duplicate, or Delete multiple steps at once, making test management more user-friendly and efficient.

Shift Left Converter: Difference Viewer  

You can now compare the original LoadRunner test code with the YAML file generated by the converter. This feature enhances the debugging process by allowing customers to easily understand the changes made during conversion.

[Service Virtualization]: Enhanced Import/Export 

The Import and Export functionality for Services now supports Test Data models. Exporting a Service generates a ZIP file containing the transaction data and any associated test data. Importing this ZIP file into Service Virtualization will restore the transactions and their test data.

[Service Virtualization]: Changed Mock References 

As announced earlier this year, the component previously known as Mock Service has been renamed to Service Virtualization. All UI references now reflect this change, with Mock Service now labeled as Virtual Service. The Service entity remains unchanged. Additionally, the option for creating Private Locations now displays Service Virtualization instead of Mock Services.

[Service Virtualization]: Rename a Virtual Service 

You can now rename a virtual service when it is stopped. This changes the display name of the virtual service but not the container name. Click "Show More" to view the container name, container ID, and version.

[Service Virtualization]: Update Location of Virtual Service 

When a virtual service is stopped, users can change its location from one private location to another. This redeploys the virtual service to a new OPL and removes the existing container and its logs from the old OPL.

[Service Virtualization]: Deploy Multiple Virtual Services on a Single Port 

To address security concerns about exposing numerous ports, we have introduced virtual service groups. Multiple virtual services can now be accessed through a single port by creating a virtual service group. For example, 20 virtual services can be grouped under "myGroup1," accessible via port 8484. Each service within the group has a unique endpoint, combining the group's basepath with the individual service's basepath. Note: This feature is currently behind a feature flag. Contact Support for access.

[Functional]: Grid Proxy Support for HTTPs 

The Grid Proxy URL server now supports HTTPS, addressing security team requests to avoid HTTP exceptions. When using HTTPS, a domain name, custom secure certificate, and key are required.

[Functional]: Mask Plain Text Password on Results Page & Editor Page 

Passwords are now masked by default on the results page. 

Additionally, the step-level editor page includes a new "Mask" checkbox, enhancing UI security by masking passwords according to best practices.

[Performance]: Displaying Error Response Body in Errors Tab 

Root cause analysis takes a major leap forward with the error response body now displayed directly in the Errors tab!

When you run a performance test, your API calls might sometimes return an error. These errors are displayed in the Errors tab in the report. Previously, users could only see the label (where the error occurred), the error code, and the error description. To further analyze and fix the issue, users needed to see the error response body, which was only accessible through the Logs tab. This required finding the relevant engine, downloading the artifacts.zip to a local machine, opening the error.jtl file, and searching for the error body—a tedious, time-consuming process.

Now, users can see the error response body directly in the Errors tab. No need to switch tabs, search for the relevant engine, or download and manually search through artifacts. BlazeMeter saves and displays the error response bodies of the first 10 occurrences in the Errors tab under the relevant label, error code, and error description.

Note: If your security policy requires hiding the error response body in the Errors tab, you can disable this feature. Go to: Account → Environment → Display Response Body in Errors, and turn the toggle off.
