Course Summary

You can replace hard-coded values in GUI Functional tests with test data loaded from CSV spreadsheets, read from the GUI, or from other sources. This course shows how to make the most of BlazeMeter's built-in support for test data in GUI Functional Testing. 

In this course, we will:

  • Teach you how to use text from the web interface during test execution in assertions
  • Explain when to group and reuse Scriptless test steps with test data, and when not
  • Provide a refresher on how to load test data from spreadsheets and how to generate synthetic test data

Extensive experience building content strategy for SaaS and on premises products in technology domains like continuous testing, continuous delivery, platform as a service, service management, and agile management.

This course is of interest to QA engineers and software testers who ensure the quality and functionality of web applications and maintain test automation scripts for GUI Functional tests. 


Prerequisites 

This course uses concepts and procedures that were introduced in the BlazeMeter Scriptless Testing Fundamentals and BlazeMeter Test Data: Fundamentals courses.

This course does not include guided exercises. 


Required Software

The BlazeMeter Test Data for GUI Functional Testing course requires a free or enterprise-level BlazeMeter account.

In a series of video clips and text, this course will cover the following tasks: 

  1. Capture Data From the Web Interface During Test Execution (15 min)

  2. Parameterize Scriptless Groups (8 min)

  3. Using CSV Data in GUI Functional Tests (5 min)

  4. Using Synthetic Test Data in GUI Functional Tests (2 min)

  5. Using CA Test Data Manager (TDM) F&R Models in GUI Functional Tests (5 min)

  6. Exam 

Total estimated duration: 35 min


Course Completion Criteria 

This course contains a final exam. To complete the course, you must pass the final exam with a score of 80% or higher. 

Upon completion, you will receive: 

  • A certificate validating the course completion.
  • The Test Data: GUI Functional badge, Value: 800 points.
